Introduction
DataShed5 is a browser-based application that allows users to view and visualise data stored within the Maxwell Data Schema. The DataShed5 interface has been designed to be as intuitive as possible, and most users should need very little instruction in order to use the basic functions.
In this presentation we will discuss the main features of DataShed5

LogOn Page
To begin using DataShed5 the DataShed5 Administrator will provide the user with a URL. When connecting to this URL the user will be presented with the DataShed5 log on screen. If this is the first time using DataShed5 the user will need to register. Selecting the Register Here link will allow the user to enter registration details and an email will be sent to the DataShed5 Administrator.
Once a user’s access is approved, an email will be sent containing the log in details.
The Forgot your password? link will send the user an email with a link to reset it. The password can also be reset by the DataShed5 Administrator.

Hello User
DataShed5 by default will open to the View Data screen.
The first menu item is the Hello User option.
The User Setting option allows users to change the default opening screen to a Dashboard, Map, DataView or Assay Manager by changing the default view. Users can also set the Data View to default to the last table viewed.
The User Guide option will open the DataShed5 User guide in a PDF viewer. This guide can be used in the viewer to search for information or downloaded or printed.
Disable All Filters will remove any filters currently applied in DataShed5.
The Change Password option allows users to modify their password.
About shows details such as software version number, server, database and MDS details, licence expiry date and any planned outages.
Log Off will close the users access to DataShed5 and while closing the browser tab will also close the users access it is recommended to use the Log Off function.
There are three different User levels available in DataShed5.
User – view, download and analyse data
User Plus – Edit data and process/approve assay batches
SysAdmin – Maintain assay data, process/delete/approve assay batches
These security levels are assigned to you by the DataShed5 Administrator and will define what features can be used and which items can be viewed by the user.
