# Prerequisites

Access to the DataShed5Admin portal

Chrome or Firefox running in English

# License Update DataShed5 v2.3.4 or newer

From version v2.3.4 DataShed5 will automatically check the maxgeo licensing server at 00:00 server time where the application is installed. During the check it will update the database license if there are any changes.

DataShed5 admin requires the following URLs to be accessible from the server hosting DataShed5

If the URL are not accessible please contact your IT department to whitelist them in your firewall

## Manually request a licenses update 

1. Log onto the DataShed5 admin Portal
2. Navigate to databases on the right hand menu
3. To the right of the database that needs updating select the licensing icon
5. Select the edit option against the license
6. Select the request license button
7. A popup will display that there is an unactivated license
8. Press “Go Back”
9. The license in DataShed5 should reflect any changes

NB: If you are presented with a window, like the below image, then there are no pending updates. If you are waiting an update please submit a ticket with your request(use the Log a ticket option at the top of this page). Please include your company and the license number in your requests

# License Update DataShed5 v2.3.3 or older

An email from maxgeo accounts will have a .mxlicence file attached. Eg: Maxwell_Geoservices_Pty_Ltd_- _DataShed5_12Jan2022.mxlicence 

1. Download the attachment to your local PC
2. Log onto the DataShed5 admin Portal
3. Navigate to databases on the right hand menu
4. To the right of the database that needs updating select the licensing icon

Browse to the downloaded licensesing file and save
