# Exporting from a Data Grid

1. Open selected Data Grid
2. Select **Download** from the top row icons.
3. Choose Excel or CSV format.
4. Navigate to the desired file location and click Save.

#  Exporting using Export Data

1. Select **Export Data** from the side menu.
2. Choose Export Type.
3. Choose File Format
4. Choose Data Source.

#  Export Types

Data can be exported from DataShed5 in a variety of formats, including Access, Excel, and CSV. The selected DataSets and/or active filters will restrict the data exported.

 **Three methods of Export are available:**

- **Table**: all columns (fields) are exported, with no field format control.
- **Layout**: the user may select the columns (fields) to be exported from a particular table by creating an export Layout.
- **Scheme**: Several user-defined layouts may be grouped together as a Scheme and exported with a single click of the Export button.

## Exporting Tables

1. Select **Export Data** from the side menu.
2. Choose Export Type - Table.
3. Choose File Format
4. Choose Data Source – desired table.
5. Confirm Settings to export Quoted or NonQuoted CSV data.
6. Click **Export**

## Export layouts

 Select **Export Data** from the side menu.

2. Choose Export Type - Layout.

3. Choose File Format

4. Choose Data Source – desired table.

5. Choose Layout – shared layouts have # prefix

6. Tick Validate to check configuration.

7. Confirm Settings to export Quoted or NonQuoted CSV data.

8. Click **Export**

### To create a layout,

1. Select **Export Data** from the side menu.

2. Choose Export Type - Layout.

3. Choose File Format

4. Choose Layout – New

5. Enter Layout Name and Share if desired.

6. Click Save

 The Export Layout Editor will open.

1. Use the **Select All** button to select all the columns in the table. The field characteristics in the database will be used for the field to be exported. Delete any fields that are not required in the export layout.

2. Click Save and Close

3. Layouts can be Copied, Modified and Deleted from the Action menu.

## Exporting Schemes

 A scheme is a group of layouts that will be exported together. The export format is defined at the time the Scheme is created.

 Select **Export Data** from the side menu.

2. Choose Export Type – Scheme

3. Choose Scheme.

### To create a Scheme,

1. Select **Export Data** from the side menu.

2. Choose Export Type - Scheme.

3. Choose Layout – New

4. Enter Scheme Name and Share if desired.

5. Click Save

 

The Export Scheme Editor will open.

1. Choose Export file Type.

2. Click the plus (+) button.

3. Select the layout from the dropdown.

4. Add Destination table name.

5. Repeat to add all required layouts.

6. Click Save and Close

7. Schemes can be Copied, Modified and Deleted from the Action menu.
