Desurveying is used to calculate the spatial X, Y and Z co-ordinates of points down a drill hole.  These 3D coordinates can be generated for any downhole table that contains a Depth From and Depth To. These tables must contain extra columns named Grid_ID, X, Y and Z.

- Click on **Desurveying** in the side menu.
- Click **New Desurvey Package**.
- Enter a description of the package.
- Choose the compulsory tables, collar and survey
- Select a method to determine the Desurveying.
- Tick the Use Negative Dip Values box if your database uses negative values for downward holes and positive values for holes that go up

# Compulsory Tables Setup

For the Desurveying package to calculate, the collar and survey tables must be defined.

The fields in blue are fields from which data is obtained to desurvey the hole. Fields in white are the fields that will be populated by the Desurveying process.

**Note:  All coordinate fields should be in the same grid**

# Other Tables Setup

Any other downhole table which contain Depth_From and  Depth_To fields can be configured to contain desurveyed coordinates.

Click on the plus (+) icon and choose the table name from the drop down list

Select the Depth From, Depth Top, North, East, RL and Grid ID columns

The Depth Priority option has 3 options (Use Depth To, Use Depth From or Calculate Midpoint ) which can be used to determine the location of the desurveyed coordinates.

Option tables are listed under the search box.

Click on the table to display the settings in the Other Tables panel.

**NOTE: The X Y Z and Grid_ID fields must be added to the appropriate table prior to the desurveying package being configured.**

When the configuration is complete select **Save** then **Validate **to check the configuration.
If the validation passes click **Proceed** to run the Desurvey Package and populate the selected fields.
It is recommended to filter the data to be desurveyed before proceeding otherwise the process can take a long time
