# **Version 3.2.1.3 - General Release **

<details>
<summary>Version 3.2.1.3 - General Release </summary>

This hotfix addresses multiple issues impacting **data integrity**, **user interaction in View Data**, and **system record consistency**. The release focuses on stabilising multi-window behaviour and resolving backend duplication risks.

## **View Data**

### **Bug Fix (#23140): Intermittent issue where editing a record in View Data updates all rows when multiple windows are open**

Editing a single record now only updates that specific record—every time.

Previously, when working across multiple View Data windows, updating one record could unintentionally apply the same change to multiple rows due to a mismatch in how primary keys were handled.

This has now been resolved.

**What this means for you:**

- Confidence that only the intended record is updated
- No risk of accidental bulk changes
- Safer editing when working across multiple tables or screens.

![Scribe for windows Workflow - Step 0.jpeg](media://63442435-366f-4371-912f-5d756f6ecd1c)

### **Bug Fix (#25202): Intermittent issue where Find & Replace in one View Data window causes unexpected navigation to another open module/tab despite successful data update.**

Find & Replace now keeps you exactly where you’re working.

In some cases, running a Find & Replace in one module (e.g. **Lithology**) could unexpectedly switch your view to another open module (e.g. **Collars**), interrupting your workflow.

This behaviour has been fixed.

**What this means for you:**

- No unexpected screen changes
- A smoother, uninterrupted editing experience

### **Bug Fix (#25203): Intermittent issue where Find & Replace or record updates affect or validate against the wrong table when multiple View Data windows are open**

Updates now reliably apply to the table you’re working in—even with multiple windows open.

Previously, Find & Replace could apply changes to the wrong table (typically the most recently opened or refreshed one), especially where tables shared similar column names.

This has been corrected.

**Benefits:**

- Eliminates risk of updating the wrong dataset
- Prevents errors like *“Incorrect value entered”*

![Scribe for windows Workflow - Step 1.jpeg](media://dd081e88-f1a2-43a0-88bd-65b123585d48)

### **Bug Fix (#24923): Intermittent issue where assigning a project with differing Project and Project_Name values creates duplicate tblSYSObject records when added to a user.**

Assigning projects to users no longer creates duplicate records.

Previously, when a project’s **Project Name** differed from its **Project ID**, assigning that project to a user could result in duplicate entries being created in the system.

This issue has now been fixed.

**What this means for you:**

- No duplicate records in system tables

### **Stronger Multi-Window Data Integrity (Behind the Scenes)**

Improvements have been made to how View Data handles multiple open windows and sessions.

These updates ensure each window maintains its own context, including correct primary key handling and table targeting during updates and Find & Replace operations.

**What this means for you:**

- Reliable behaviour when working across multiple tabs or screens
- Reduced risk of cross-table interference

# Government Reporter Extension v1.3.2

<details>
<summary>Government Reporter Extension v1.3.2</summary>

**Bug Fixes**

Missing H1004 (Accuracy of Measurements) in Assay File Export – Assay files exported via the Government Reporter were missing the H1004 header, which is required by the Australian submission standard. H1004 represents the accuracy of measurements and is derived from the unit of measurement field configured per data column — entered as a comma-separated value alongside the unit (e.g. m,+0.1). The system now correctly reads the second part of that value and writes it as the H1004 row in all exported assay files.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 0.jpeg](media://00631555-3033-48c4-be70-e715db049015)

Missing H1001 (Units) for Non-Assay Files – Some clients were missing H1001 from both their available header fields and header allocation for non-assay files. H1001 defines the units of measurement for data columns and is required for non-assay files to be configured correctly. While H1001 is automatically written by the system for assay files, it must be manually allocated for non-assay files. The header is now correctly available for all clients on startup via the missing headers fix that runs when the application starts.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 2.jpeg](media://a3ea3467-a525-41b7-bc70-a6460dbeab42)

QAQC File Headers Missing When DMP Views Are Absent – QAQC data files (H0370–H0373) rely on specialised database views ending in _DMP (e.g. tblVWDHSamp_QCSTD_DMP). On some client databases these views do not exist, which caused the QAQC files to silently fail during startup and never register their headers. The application now ensures headers for all configured data files are created on startup regardless of whether the underlying database view exists.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 3.jpeg](media://70f18c3d-4a68-44d2-9ed8-aaeac9a04ad7)

Assay File Sample Table Selection Restriction Removed – The sample table selection for assay files was previously restricted to a predefined list of tables, which prevented some clients from selecting the table they needed. The selection now shows all available tables and views, consistent with how non-assay files work.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 4.jpeg](media://f1f32196-320f-434b-9c5e-9c3c8923ef1a)

Assay File Header Allocation Cleanup – Headers that are automatically generated by the system when an assay file is produced (H1000 – H1005, H1007, H1008) are no longer shown as available options when manually configuring headers for assay files. Previously, users could accidentally add these headers manually, which was unnecessary since the system always writes them automatically during file generation.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 5.jpeg](media://ac633195-2258-4f98-8985-826b2678ada5)

**H1001** (Units of Measurement) and **H1004** (Accuracy of Measurements) Support for Non-Assay Files – Non-assay files now support H1001 and H1004 headers driven by values entered directly against each data column in the file configuration. Users can enter a comma-separated value in the unit of measurement field for each column (e.g. m,+0.1) where the value before the comma is written as the unit of measurement (H1001) and the value after the comma is written as the accuracy of measurement (H1004). These headers are only written to the exported file if H1001 and/or H1004 have been allocated to the file in the header configuration. This brings non-assay files in line with the existing behaviour for assay files, where units and accuracy are automatically derived from column-level configuration.

![Govt Reporter Release Notes v1.3.2 - Step 6.jpeg](media://a086cfd4-c36a-4124-959d-606cc6331e0d)

Coordinate Columns Not Appended for FS Site Files – When exporting Face Site (FS) files with a grid ID specified, the coordinate columns (Grid_ID, Coordinate_East_Long, Coordinate_North_Lat, Coordinate_RL) were not being appended to the output. This was caused by the H1000 header check using datafile.header_code to determine whether to include coordinate columns, which did not account for the FS site header code. The check has been updated to use datafile.table directly, covering all four site/collar table types: tblDHColl, tblLSSite, tblFSSite, and tblPTSite.

## Import Data

**Smarter Importing With Clearer Warnings**

**Early warnings for incomplete data**

When importing files, the system now checks if all required Primary Key columns are present.
If any are missing, you’ll see an immediate on‑screen message warning you before you continue.

**What this means for you:**

- Fewer surprises later in the import process
- More confidence that the data you’ve prepared will behave as expected
- Clear guidance when a file needs adjustments

![image](media://380dfaa7-5bb4-436b-a567-8172ad133103)

**Better Handling of Duplicate Records**

**Clear visuals and messaging when duplicates exist**

When merging data, if multiple records in your file share the same Primary Key, the system now highlights these rows and displays a clear warning explaining what will happen.

**Benefits:**

- Easy to identify duplicates at a glance
- No silent overwriting of values
- Transparent “last record wins” behavior when merging

![image](media://8ac5bf25-f655-4ea2-b024-18531b9ad22e)

**Cleaner Import Layout Editing**

**Excel/CSV layouts are now simpler and clearer**

When editing import layouts for Excel or CSV:

- Only the fields relevant to these formats are shown
- Irrelevant assay‑specific settings are hidden

**What this means for you:**
A cleaner, focused editing experience without distractions or confusion.

## Buffer Modifications

**Buffer Modifications are now more flexible**

We’ve improved the way data rules and transformations work during import.

You can now:

- Update numeric fields without needing quotes
- Use advanced expressions (e.g., CASE WHEN, IsNull) more reliably
- Apply multi‑step updates that execute in the correct order

**Result:**
Your import transformations are now smoother, more predictable, and easier to configure.

![image](media://0f6ebcda-fb7d-4cea-84ff-b883d2557894)

## Data Grid

**Consistent Australian Date Format**

**Date entry now behaves exactly as expected**

Regardless of whether you type the date or use the picker, dates now consistently display in the Australian format (DD‑MMM‑YYYY).

You can enter dates like:

- **03/10/2020**
- **03‑Oct‑2020**

The system will convert and format them correctly every time.

**Outcome:** Fewer mistakes, fewer corrections, and improved clarity when reviewing data.

## Sample Dispatch

**Sample Dispatch — All Groups Save Correctly**

**No more missing groups**

Previously, only the first sample group was consistently saved when creating a new dispatch.
This has now been fully resolved.

**Now you can:**

- Create multiple groups in any order
- Copy, edit, or add groups freely
- Trust that all groups appear in the PDF, CSV, and Preview

**Impact:**
A more stable and dependable dispatch workflow from start to finish.

![image](media://1ec1caf4-2508-48b1-b374-85e8c632a76e)

## Government Reporter

We resolved an issue in the Government Reporter where generating large reports could intermittently fail with download errors and subsequent Government Reporter configuration warnings. The report engine has been stabilised to ensure large data exports complete successfully without timing out, even under heavier server load.

# Version 3.2.1.1 - maxgeo Cloud Only

<details>
<summary>DataShed5 v 3.2.1.1 Release Notes</summary>

> ℹ️ This version is currently only available for maxgeo cloud clients.

**DataShed5 v3.2.1.1 Overview**

This release addresses a set of high priority bugs and functional regressions affecting DataShed5 data import, buffer behavior, job service processing, search/filter functions, and auditing. The fixes improve platform stability, accuracy of error handling, and overall user experience across multiple environments.

**Applies To:** Cloud and Hosted DataShed5 environments
**Purpose:** Resolves critical bugs and functional regressions identified post v3.2.1.0 release.

## **Search, Filters & View Data**

- **Fixed** an issue where searching table data with **Cascade Filters** could return a [object Object] error when searching for non‑existent values.
- **Fixed** a bug where the **Modified_By** field was not updating when records were edited in DataShed5, while Modified_Date was updating correctly.
- **Resolved** an intermittent "**There is no selected record**" error when deleting multiple records, particularly when filters were applied.
- **Fixed** an issue causing exports from **View Data** (CSV or Excel) to fail on certain environments.

![image](media://ae8ad627-7344-4fa7-8271-c09d4c14763f)

## Import data

**Assay Imports**

Improved handling of long‑running assay imports to prevent intermittent blank red error notifications; timeouts now display a clear gateway‑timeout message, additional logging has been added for troubleshooting, and empty toaster errors are no longer shown.

**Import & Buffer Table Management**

- **Resolved** a false‑positive warning stating that imported data already existed in the database when it did not.
- **Fixed** an issue where error rows were lost from the buffer table when multiple critical errors existed in the same import file.
- **Fixed** incorrect error files being generated by the Job Service, where column headers were mapped to the wrong destination tables.
- **Improved** buffer modification behavior to allow buffer mods to be applied to **all source file fields**, even when those fields are not mapped in the import layout (bringing parity with DataShed4 behavior).
- **Fixed** an issue where SQL Update and SQL Delete incorrectly dropped single quotes around text values — both now correctly require single‑quoted text again (e.g., Hole_Type = 'AC', Orig_Grid_ID = 'MGA94_51'), restoring the original syntax.
- **Additional buffer modification expressions** have been added. Please refer to the updated Buffer Modifications Guide for the full list of supported expressions.
- **Fixed** an issue where DH Survey imports incorrectly flagged all records with validation errors (“Survey_Method is required”, “Depth is required”) and prevented buffer clearing or appending; imports now process correctly.

![image](media://146a3f81-a29a-4f02-ab3c-62dd9b81f036)

**Find and Replace unreliable in Import Buffer**

- Addressed an issue where **Find & Replace** intermittently failed unless the page was refreshed. Users can now perform multiple consecutive **Find & Replace** operations reliably.

**Import Job Service**

- **Resolved** an issue where the Job Service could enter a **Kill State**, incorrectly reporting that no records were imported even when valid records were successfully processed.
- **Corrected** inconsistent reporting of import success/failure when Job Service errors occurred.

## Export Data

- Fixed an issue where queued exports in Export Data became stuck and never progressed — subsequent exports now correctly start once the previous export completes, resolving the problem where items remained indefinitely in “queued” status.

## Government Reporter

- Fixed an issue preventing Government Reporter exports from producing output — large dataset extracts no longer fail silently or return “task was cancelled,” and reports now generate successfully as expected.

## Sample Dispatch

**Bug:**

- Fixed a performance issue in the Sample Dispatch extension where selecting PT samples caused severe lag and timeouts for large datasets; PT sample selection now responds instantly even with high‑volume datasets (8,000–150,000+ samples), resolving the unresponsive behaviour.

**New Features:**

- Added the ability to create, edit, and use **Dispatch Prefix codes** when generating new sample dispatches. The system now auto‑increments the numeric component based on the last dispatch for that prefix, auto‑populates the Dispatch ID, allows prefix management via a dedicated pop‑up, and only displays active prefixes in the drop‑down.
- Updated multi‑select drop‑down in the Sample Dispatch extension to use checkbox‑based selectors, allowing users to select multiple samples without the menu closing after each click; includes fixes ensuring groups and sample lists now save correctly during dispatch creation.
- Adjusted the Sample Dispatch window layout so action buttons are no longer cut off on standard monitors, ensuring the full interface is visible when creating a new dispatch.

It also covers new assay management tools, helping you fully leverage the software’s capabilities.

## Major Enhancements

### Large File Importing & Performance

- **Improved Large File Handling:** Users can now import files significantly larger than 3,500 rows without the application becoming unresponsive.
- **Backend Refactoring:** The ImportData.js module was optimized to support chunked data transmission, reducing memory overhead and improving performance.
- **Hangfire Integration:** Large imports are now processed asynchronously using Hangfire (A background job service), ensuring better fault tolerance and responsiveness.
- **Sequential Job Execution:** Import jobs are now executed sequentially per user and per database to maintain data integrity, especially for parent-child table relationships.

![image](media://3cf0531f-8a70-454a-8d31-7fce44a73a04)

**Import Notifications & Job Management**

- **New Notifications Menu:** A dedicated Import Notifications section has been added to the UI, showing import logs with details like file name, layout used, destination table, and error counts.
- **Email Alerts:** Users receive email notifications upon import completion, including summaries of success and error counts, with direct links to download error files.
- **Job Management:** Users can now cancel long-running Hangfire import jobs directly from the Notifications page.

![image](media://befc34c2-0a20-47b9-8a4d-ad21fe677260)

Users can select to "**Always Use Job Service For Import**" or allow DataShed to choose the best method, based on the record count.
If this checkbox is unchecked, the importer will use the traditional method for imports less than 1000 records. Imports with 1000 or more records will automatically use the Job Service.

![image](media://8331f751-b0ed-4e81-99d4-3254ebfe6193)

## Sample Dispatch Enhancements

- The Sample Dispatch screen layout has been restructured for better usability:
  - Sample selection tools are now placed horizontally at the top.
  - Filtering options are more compact, with room for future enhancements.
  - Filtering options are now adaptive, querying the Sample Register table to show only tables which do contain data for the selected DataSet and Table Type selections.
- QC Sample Inclusion: The new table selection allows users to expressly include or exclude QAQC tables and their samples in dispatches. (previously they were simply included by default as long as no Sample Type filter was used).
- Collapsible sample selection pane to make more space available for the groups list .

![image](media://19124435-2753-49a5-9a26-74a9967c7586)

## Assay Manager

**Execute Assay Stored Procedures:**

- Added to the concertina menu for Assay Stored Procedures.
- Users can run stored procedures and receive feedback via email.

## Government Reporter

- **Government Reporter Interface**
Dynamic label change for Table Name to “Sample Table Name” when Table Type is any _Assay option.
Restricted drop-down values based on Table Type selection.
Updated Queries.sql for query definitions per Table Type.
Drop-down options for Assay Type limited to XRF when Table Type = Downhole or Point.
Improved Data File creation UI: clarified second drop-down descriptions (e.g., DH/LS/FS codes).
- **Government Reporter Optional Unit of Measurement**
Added “Optional Unit of Measurement” column in DataFiles section before Order column.
Entry is optional and open text.

![image](media://d57e6564-acb2-4428-85f2-e5a3564432ba)

## Other Enhancements

- Resolved timeout issue when retrieving FieldList where a large number of columns caused query to exceed the default 30-second timeout.
- Improved handling of SignalR disconnection during import. Users who lose connection (due to idle timeout or network issues) can now seamlessly resume the import process after reconnecting.

## Bug Fixes

| **Feature** | **Description** | **Details** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Assay Manager** | Buffer modifications - basic calculations. | Simple calculations (e.g., Depth_To = Depth_From + 0.5) now apply correctly, and SQL delete expressions work as expected. |
| **Assay Manager** | Unable to check boxes when adding a new entry. | Checkboxes can now be selected when adding new records, not just when editing existing ones. |
| **Assay Manager** | Error when editing Assay Batch Error. | Users can now edit and save batch details without encountering errors. |
| **View Data** | Date/time pickers across DS5 incorrectly convert entered times to UTC. | Start and finish times now save correctly and can be edited without causing loading errors. |
| **View Data** | Search bar in LIB tables throwing error - Invalid Column Name. | Searching from the top search bar now works correctly for all LIB tables, including logging tables like Colour Code and Lithology Code. |
| **Export Data** | Columns were exported as **Short Text** in Access, even though defined as numeric (`N`) in the layout. | Export now correctly preserves numeric data types for these columns. |
| **Import Data** | DataShed5 didn't recognise comments in import file. | Comments now import correctly without requiring manual text-only formatting. |
| **Import Data** | Some import record failures were not being clearly marked in the Import Buffer. | Failed records are now clearly marked, and users can download error-specific files for review and correction. |
| **Import Data** | Data Source dropdown had no value selected by default when using the file type which is newly created.
So it could end up creating Layout Definition without selecting Data Source, and causing this issue when validating. | Data Source is now selected by default. |
| **Import Data** | Coordinates were not loading correctly in a MDS5 database. | Coordinates load correctly in MDS5 databases. |
| **Import Data** | Collar loading failing file not loading to buffer. | Data loads to the buffer append/merge without error. |
| **Import Data** | After clicking **Append** or **Merge**, the buffer screen did not clear, no feedback was provided, and error indicators (triangle icon) were missing when data contained errors. | Buffer now clears after actions, shows validation feedback, and displays error indicators when needed. |
| **Import Data** | During CSV import for DH Collar layouts, some cells appeared orange and blank, contained hidden data, and could not be edited or saved. Merge operation also failed when these cells were present. | Orange cells now display correctly, can be edited, and merge works as expected. |
| **Import Data** | Buffer Screen Not Clearing and Missing Error Indicators for append. | Import Buffer works as expected, clearing loaded data and correctly indicating errors. |
| **Import Data** | When an Excel file is produced containing data with import errors, the date fields were in Excel format. | Error files now use a supported date format so they can be re-imported without failing. |
| **Import Data** | The REPLACE expression was not updating values in some layouts. | REPLACE now works correctly for all tables and layouts. |
| **Import Data** | When importing files, underscores in column headers were stripped in the buffer table and persisted in exported Excel files, causing remapping issues on re-import. | Headers now keep underscores, preventing remapping problems when re-importing files. |
| **Import Data** | DataShed5 previously did not display an error when importing files with invalid date formats (e.g., `MM/DD/YYYY`), leaving data in the append table without error indicators. | Invalid dates are now flagged with clear error messages instead of silently failing. |
| **Import Data** | Import buffer displays errors for invalid date time formats. | Dates now import correctly and can be entered manually without errors. |
| **Import Data** | Column Mapping error when unmapping fields. | Fields can successfully be unmapped and data appended to the table. |
| **Government Reporter** | Header fields H0702, H0800, H0801, H0802 SQL incorrect. | Corrected SQL references for header fields to avoid incorrect pXRF system mapping.<br>Ensured proper linkage to Downhole Assay standards. |
| **Government Reporter** | Reporter QAQC | Fixed issue where QAQC data was not exported in reports.<br>Implemented new view definitions for QC data export based on old DMP queries.<br>Updated base configuration for deployment. |
| **Government Reporter** | Reported Issues | Resolved incorrect assay result counts (previously returning 2 instead of 5).<br>Fixed missing fields and incorrect GenericMethod in H1002 Assay Code.<br>Corrected handling of AI2O3 fields and NAGROM column mapping. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | Date pickers were incorrectly rejecting some dates a future dates. | Dates can be selected and saved correctly. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | When using Shift/Select to selct a range of samples, the last sample selected was incorrect. | Shift/Select functions as expected. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | Sample Dispatch submissions to ALS API were sending an incorrect code. | The system now sends the correct Contract Number instead of Contract Name when submitting work orders to ALS. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | Selecting a Sample Type in the dropdown excludes QAQC samples from the database search for Dispatch. | Export now includes all original and QC samples (except XRF) and correctly handles standards with secondary source IDs. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | Standard sample were being excluded from PROD samples. | Standard samples can be selected for PROD samples. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | Sample Dispatch tab was showing as "View Data" | The tab now displays the correct name. |
| **Sample Dispatch** | The Total Sample Count was calculating incorrectly when the same group was allocated to multiple item codes. | Total samples now display accurately when the same group is allocated to multiple item codes. |

## DataShed Administrator

## Bug Fixes

Fixed deletion error in DataShed Admin when removing a database
Cause: A new foreign key to AspNetPartnerConnectionUsers (introduced with ALS integration) prevented database deletion.
Resolution: When deleting a database from the DSA front-end, the associated record in AspNetPartnerConnectionUsers is now removed before deleting the main database record. Govt Reporter

![image-20250612-074138.png](media://dc43acef-5563-4cb5-bda7-77bdf9bb8fa8)

**Dual-Screen Support:**

- Users can position *View Data* grids and map views across two monitors for expanded workflows.
- All interactive functions such as select all, refresh, sorting, and display settings now operate independently per view.

**Filter Synchronisation Improvements:**

- Filters created and saved in one view (e.g. *Collar*) propagate to related views (e.g. *DH Lithology*) by performing a manual Refresh on the view.
- Activating, deactivating, or globally clearing filters using the *"Disable all filters"* option reflects consistently across all views.

**Usability Enhancements:**

- Tabs and windows automatically revert to defaults when sorting and display settings are cleared.
- Grid views retain the correct data context after refresh actions.

**View Data**

**Grid Performance Improvements – Faster Loads, Smoother Interaction**

This release includes major improvements to grid performance in DataShed5, delivering a faster and more responsive user experience when working with large datasets.

**Key enhancements:**

- **Smarter Data Loading:** Grid data now loads in efficient batches, preserving scroll position and column view.
- **Server-Side Filtering:** Filters applied via column headers now trigger direct API queries to the database rather than the grid, significantly reducing load times.
- **Improved Inline Editing:** Inline editing is now supported for the initially loaded dataset (e.g. first 1000 records), keeping the UI responsive while additional data loads in the background.
- **Backend Optimisation:** Direct database API integration streamlines data retrieval and minimises unnecessary data transfer.

These changes reduce lag, especially in large tables, and provide a more seamless experience for users navigating, editing, and filtering data.

**Enhanced Grid Editing Controls**

Improved Insert and Update Behaviour in Grid View:
**Insert Mode:**

- Records are now auto-saved only when the user completes the row or clicks away from it.
- If a newly inserted row contains validation errors:
  - A red toaster message alerts the user to the errors.
  - Pressing Escape (Esc) will now cancel the row insertion and remove the invalid data from the datastore.

**Update Mode:**

- When editing an existing row, changes are not saved column-by-column—they're only saved once the user finishes the row, clicks the Save button (see below) or clicks away.
- If the row contains validation errors:
  - The same toaster message and restrictions apply as with insert mode.
  - Pressing Escape (Esc) or clicking the Cancel button will cancel the update, restoring the row to its previously saved state.
- New Save and Cancel buttons appear to the left of the grid for an edited record (see below).

**General UX Enhancement:**

- The Escape key (Esc) now acts as a standard cancel mechanism, consistent with other database applications, allowing users to abort insert or update actions safely before committing changes to the database.

![image-20250612-074434.png](media://aefbf6e5-c718-4b3c-9b17-846537f7d5d4)

🔘 **Manual Workflow**

- Import Data > Select Layout > Select File > Load
- Launches stored procedure: usp_XRFDataProcess_Common
- File saved to: tblSYSXRFAttachment
- Runs:
  - usp_ProcessXRFInComingDataDriver
  - usp_ProcessXRFLabChecksInComingData
  - usp_ProcessXRFStandardsInComingData
  - usp_DataXRFResultsMergingProcess

🔁 **Automation (Power Automate)**

- Triggered by new email containing pXRF attachment.
- Executes usp_XRFDataProcess_Common with file path, name, and selected layout.
- Automates:
  - Attachment storage
  - Validation procedures
  - Merging logic
- Requires no user interaction once layout is saved and registered.

**New “Find & Replace” Option in Buffer Table Context Menu:**

- To improve data correction workflows during import, a “**Find & Replace**” option has been added to the right-click menu on all columns within buffer tables (e.g. Import > Buffers). This feature is available only to users with SysAdmin or UserPlus roles.
- A third right-click option – “**Find & Replace**” – now appears alongside existing Fix and Unfix options on buffer table columns.
- The dialog title dynamically reflects the column name on which the action is performed for clarity.

![image-20250612-075356.png](media://c69e192d-fa6f-4a0c-b680-36f2b0346f69)

**Export Data**

**Decimal Places Now Editable in Export Layouts:**

The Export Data > Layout Editor in DataShed5 now supports specifying the number of decimal places for numeric fields, restoring functionality previously available in DataShed4.

![image-20250612-075501.png](media://9119d69a-515d-4bc4-b5a7-f41e80789589)

- A new “Decimals” column has been added to the Export Layout Editor.
- For fields where Data Type = N (numeric):
  - If left blank, decimal precision values are fetched from the SQL table tblSYSExportLayoutField.Decimals.
  - Users can manually override the number of decimals during layout creation or editing.
- For character (C) and date (D) fields, the Decimals column will remain NULL and non-editable.

**Export Layout Editor – Data Type Handling Restored to DataShed4 Compatibility**
The Export Layout Editor has been improved to restore key DataShed4-era capabilities and streamline the creation of custom export layouts. These updates enhance user flexibility and accuracy when configuring export schemas.

**Key Enhancements:**

- **Restored “Output Type” Functionality**
Output Type options (e.g. Data, SQL, Value, Predefined) now match the workflow and structure previously available in DataShed4, allowing advanced formatting, SQL logic, and predefined variables as shown in the legacy layout editor.
- **Auto-Naming for New Fields**
When new fields are added, they are automatically named using the convention NewField1, NewField2, etc., reducing setup time and confusion.
- **Custom Value Field Type Support**
Users can now insert custom export values using the "Value" or "Predefined" Output Type, with options like #Username, #Date, and #Now supported for dynamic content injection.
- **Layout and Schema Testing**
Export layout configurations have been validated to ensure compatibility with existing schema requirements and export workflows.

This update ensures a familiar and powerful export configuration experience for users transitioning from DataShed4 to DataShed5.

**Standardised CSV Export Format and Column Headings**

**CSV Export Consistency Enhancements:**
To address confusion and improve consistency, CSV exports in DataShed5 have been standardised across all export methods:
**Unified Column Headings:**

- All CSV exports now use underlying SQL field names as column headers.
- This applies to:
  - Export > Table (Export menu)
  - View Data Grids
  - Import Buffer
- Example: Hole_ID, Hole_Type, Max_Depth
(replaces alias-style headers like Hole ID, Hole Type, Max Depth)

**Consistent Regional Format Handling:**

- Now standardised: All CSV exports will ignore machine regional settings and consistently use:
  - **.** for decimals
  - **,** for field delimiters
This ensures predictable behaviour across systems and reduces confusion.

**Shared Layouts – Editable by All Users**
Shared layouts are now fully editable by all users, not just the original creator. Once a layout is shared, it becomes a collaborative resource—any user level **(User to SysAdmin)** can now:

- Edit layout settings
- Rename the layout
- Delete the layout

**Export Scheme Layout Limit – Improved Handling and Error Messaging**
Previously, users could add numerous layouts when first creating an export scheme, but upon editing an existing scheme with many layouts (e.g. 30+), attempts to add more layouts would silently fail with **no error message**.

**Users can now:**

Users can now reliably add and save additional layouts to an export scheme, regardless of how many already exist.

A clear error message now appears if a technical or practical limit is reached, preventing confusion during editing.

There is currently no hard cap on the number of layouts in a scheme—users can create and manage large exports (e.g. 100+ layouts) if needed.

**Assay Manager**

**Improved Handling of Batches Without Import Layouts**

The Assay Manager now displays all batches, including those that do not have an import layout configured. Previously, these batches were hidden, making them impossible to view or delete.

- All batches are now visible in the Assay Manager, regardless of import layout status.
- The **Re-process Batch** button is **disabled or hidden** for batches with no import layout, preventing errors during reprocessing.
- The **Delete button remains active** for SysAdmin and UserPlus roles, ensuring users can manage incomplete batches as needed.

**Enhanced Dataset Selection for Assay Merging:**

A new drop down list has been added to the Assay Manager tab within the **Unmerged Assay Results** section to streamline the assay merging process.

- The “**Target DataSet**” drop down allows users to choose a DataSet to set as *current* for assay merging.
- User can only choose from DataSets that are Active in Administrator, to which they have been assigned and also which are Active in the DataSet Manager in their session.
- This simplifies the workflow by removing the need to navigate away from the Assay Manager and makes multi-dataset merging faster and more intuitive.

![image-20250616-024049.png](media://6874efea-6163-4285-815e-9d17782651f7)

**Support for SQL-Based Expressions in “Update To”:**

This enhancement improves data transformation workflows by reintroducing flexible expression handling similar to that in DataShed4, aligning with long-standing user expectations and training materials.

The “**Update To**” functionality in DataShed5 has been enhanced to bring back key capabilities from DataShed4, allowing for more dynamic updates to column values.

- The “**Update To**” field now supports SQL expressions and functions, not just static values.
- Users can define update logic using supported string, date, and advanced SQL functions to calculate new column values based on existing data.

Users can now perform conditional updates using SQL logic directly within the buffer interface.

### Key Improvements:

- Users can now update records using full SQL-like syntax, including:
  - Field-level conditions with `WHERE` clauses
e.g. `Sample_Method = 'RIFFLE' WHERE Sample_Category = 'DUP'`
  - Full expressions referencing column values, literals, and SQL functions.
- The tool now accepts:
  SELECT
FROM
WHERE
- **Unsupported clauses**:
`GROUP BY` and `HAVING` remain excluded for performance and security considerations.

**Supported Function Categories:**

**✅ String Functions (Fully Supported):**

- CONCAT
- LEFT, RIGHT
- SUBSTRING
- LTRIM, RTRIM, TRIM
- REPLACE

**✅ Date Functions (Fully Supported):**

- DATEADD, DATEDIFF
- GETDATE
- ISDATE
- SYSDATETIME

**✅ Advanced Functions (Fully Supported):**

- IIF
*Example:* IIF(Orig_Azimuth > 10, Orig_Azimuth - 10, Orig_Azimuth)
- ISNULL
- ISNUMERIC
- CONVERT
- SYSTEM_USER *(preferred option for user context tracking)*

**⚠️ Not Supported:**

- Numeric functions (e.g. ROUND, ABS, CEILING) are intentionally excluded and will not be evaluated.

## Extensions

**Sample Dispatch**

:check_mark: A valid mxAPI License is required for this feature to be enabled.

- **ALS API Integration:** A new **“Send via API”** button allows direct submission of dispatches to ALS Webtrieve, streamlining the workflow.

![image-20250616-024201.png](media://3b81bc3b-38bd-4fea-9be2-79bbd2cbe36c)

- **Status & Work Order Tracking:** The dispatch list now includes **Lab Dispatch Status** and **Work Order Number** fields, automatically populated after submission.
- **Improved Lab Code Mapping:** Lab codes are now correctly mapped using tblLIBCompany.
- **Inactive Code Filtering:** The **Pulp Return Storage Location** dropdown now excludes inactive codes.
- **Sample Type:** Added Prod Samp and Prod SampQC to Sample Table Type selection.

- **Streamlined Interface: **The interface has been refined to support the new feature, with a cleaner layout, removal of redundant fields, and updated styling for better usability.
- **Intercept Package Management: **Users can now create, edit, copy, rename, and delete intercept packages. Enhanced validation and sensible default settings streamline the workflow.

![image-20250616-024822.png](media://f885d9f5-89e1-4ca9-9421-7285f962fa29)

**Government Reporter**

- **Single Container Deployment:** Now runs in a **single container** across multiple databases, reducing system overhead and enhancing scalability.

**Historical Data Loader (AppStream)**

- **AppStream Support:** Historical data loading is now fully functional in AppStream, including **bulk uploads** and **data validation**.

## Fixes & Deprecations

- **DH Minerals Import – Duplicate Depth Intervals Not Reported in Buffer Table**
Previously, when importing DH Minerals data containing duplicate Depth_From and Depth_To values, a primary key (PK) error would occur. If the user opted to view errors in the buffer table, the system silently removed the duplicates and continued the import without displaying any error messages.
This issue has been resolved.
- **View Data – Incorrect Field List on Sort**
Fixed an issue where the field list in the *Sort* panel could display fields from the wrong table (e.g., LIB Instrument or Collar) after switching between multiple View Data tabs. The correct fields now display consistently for the active table.
- **View Data –** smalldatetime **Fields Showing Date Only**
Resolved an issue where smalldatetime fields (e.g., in clients table tblLIBRodFactor) where displayed as *date-only*, omitting the time component. This prevented users from accurately adjusting start and end times. Time values now display correctly.
- **Record Insertion – Mandatory Fields Marked Invalid**
Fixed an issue where sysadmin users (e.g., @maxgeo, @datashed) were unable to add new records. Mandatory fields were marked in red, and attempts to save resulted in validation errors, despite all fields being populated. This occurred in some environments (e.g., zSmokeTest) but not in production. The validation now works as expected.
- **Default Bit Fields Not Applied on Insert**
Resolved an issue where default values for mandatory bit fields (e.g., Validated, In_MRE in **DH Collar**) were not applied on record insert. These now correctly default to TRUE or FALSE as defined in SQL.
- **Assay Summary Report – No YTD Data**
Fixed an issue where the **Assay Summary Report** failed to populate data for the current year, despite valid batches and sample turnarounds. The report now compiles year-to-date assay data as expected.
- **View Data – Filter Title Cut Off**
Fixed an issue where long filter names were truncated in the View Data title tab. The title panel now resizes to accommodate longer filter names.
- **Data Grid – Column Resize Affects Neighbouring Columns**
Resolved a layout issue where resizing a column in the data grid would shrink the column to its right. Columns now resize independently without impacting adjacent columns.
- **Assay Contracts**
  - **Lab Code Locking:** The **Lab Code** field is now auto-populated and locked based on the selected contractor, reducing data entry errors.
  - **Dropdown Sorting:** Dropdowns now respect sort order, enhancing usability and consistency.
- **QAQC Report Compatibility**
  - **Standard Monthly Report:** The legacy QAQC **Standard Monthly Report for MDS5** has been deprecated due to compatibility issues and removed from deployment scripts.
- **End-of-Life: DataShed4 Functionality**
  - **DataShed4 Deprecation:** All legacy DataShed4 features are now officially deprecated. Users should transition to DataShed5 equivalents for continued support and updates.

## DataShed5 Admin Release Notes

- **DS5 Admin – Cannot Delete New User Group**
Addressed a bug preventing SysAdmins from deleting newly created user groups within **Database Details** in DS5 Admin. User groups can now be removed as expected.
- **Outage – Access Not Restored After Scheduled End**
Fixed an issue where DS5 continued to display an active outage and blocked access even after the scheduled end time had passed. The outage would only clear after manually viewing it in Admin. Outages now end automatically as expected without requiring admin intervention.
- The **Online Users** menu in the **DataShed5 Admin Portal** inconsistently detects active user activity. While it sometimes reports users as online accurately, other times it fails to do so.
- When you create a brand new user and try to assign a Role, the Role box is missing until you refresh the browser. The same happens when you try to create a Membership and assign Projects to the new user.
- When a User is assigned a Database role, the same role is applied for all databases for which they have a Membership.
