This guide offers a clear, step-by-step process for importing pXRF sample and assay data from Excel and CSV files. It covers layout creation, data review, and appending for both drillhole and surface samples. Designed to streamline data input, the guide helps users improve accuracy and efficiency in managing geochemical data for their projects.

## Importing pXRF DH Sample data

1. Click "**Import Data**"
2. Select the Import File format type - in this case an Excel file
3. Click "**+ New Layout**" to create a new Import Layout.
4. Click "**Load File**" to open the File Loader modal window.
5. Select "**XRF DH Samples**" for DH Samples.
  - For Point Samples, select "XRF Surface Samples".
6. Select the file and worksheet to import.
7. Select a default DataSet (if required) and a Date Format.
8. Match the fileds to import and delete unrequired fields.
9. Click "**Save Layout**" to save the Layout.
10. Enter a Layout name and click "**Ok**".
11. Click "**Load**" to load the import file to the Import Buffer.
12. Review the data in the Import Buffer. When satisfied the data is correct, click "**Append Data**".
13. A message "Data has been appended successfully." is displayed for a successful file import. The Import Buffer will be empty.

## Viewing the imported Samples

1. Click "**View Data**"
2. Expand the **XRF Management** module.
3. and select "**XRF DH Samples**"
4. Apply a filter to see the imported samples.

## Importing pXRF Assay Results

Click "**Import Data**"  
Click "**pXRF File**"  
Click "**+ New Layout**"  
Click "**Load File"**  
Select the file to import by clicking "**Select File**".  
Select a **Date Format**, **Units**, **Lab Code** and **Lab Method.**

> ℹ️ **Note:** Required fields are highlighted blue when unmatched.

Match the import From Fields to the table To Fields.  
Only the first pXRF Element needs to be identified. The importer will determine the following Elements from that.  
pXRF Import Layouts must be saved in order to be used. Click "**Save Layout**"  
Enter a Layout Name and click "**Ok**"  
Click "**Load**" to load the pXRF Assay data.  
Messages are displayed in the Description panel.  
A message -"Successfully processed without error" will display after a successful data import.  
Click "**Close**"

## Viewing the imported pXRF Assays

1. Click "**View Data**"
2. Select the "**XRF Management**" module.
3. Open the "**XRF DH Results**" table.
  1. For Point samples, open the "**VW XRF Results**" table.
4. Set an appropriate filter
