[00:00:05] Welcome to this DataShed5 quick training video.
[00:00:08] In this session, we’ll show [00:00:10] you how to work more efficiently using the new Multi-Tab and Multi-View features. These tools are perfect for multitasking, working across multiple screens, [00:00:20] and managing complex datasets with ease.
[00:00:22] You can now right-click any item in the main menu—like View Data, Reports, Dashboards, Import/Export, Assay Manager, [00:00:30] Extensions, or Maps—and choose "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new window".
[00:00:35] This lets you launch different views side by side. For example, you might [00:00:40] open View Data in one tab and Maps or Reports in another—ideal for dual monitor setups or detailed comparisons.
[00:00:47] Let’s look at a common use case with View [00:00:50] Data.
[00:00:51] Start by opening the DH Collar table in one data grid.
[00:00:54] Then, right-click View Data again and choose Open in new window.
[00:00:59] In the second [00:01:00] window, open the DH Lithology table.
[00:01:02] Now arrange the two windows side by side.
[00:01:06] If you apply a Cascade Filter in the DH Collar grid,
[00:01:12] and then refresh the Lithology grid, the filter will carry across—linking your views.
[00:01:21] Remove the filter, refresh again, and both views update—keeping everything in sync.
[00:01:31] Another helpful scenario is during assay data loading.
[00:01:38] Open Import Data,
[00:01:41] then right-click Assay Manager and open it in a new tab.
[00:01:50] You can repeat this again to open Assay Manager in a third tab, this time selecting Library Tables from the burger menu.
[00:01:58] This setup allows you to load [00:02:00] and review assay data in one tab, process it in Assay Manager, and fix missing or inactive library items—like QC References or Import Data Masks—in the third [00:02:10] tab.
[00:02:10] It’s a powerful way to streamline your import workflow.
[00:02:22] You can also open multiple Map Views.
[00:02:25] Just right-click on the map you want to open in View Map in the main menu, and [00:02:30] select Open in new window. Then repeat for a second window.
[00:02:34] With both maps side by side, you can zoom, pan, and toggle layers independently.
[00:02:39] This is [00:02:40] great for comparing regional geology with drillhole layouts—or any spatial data side by side.
[00:02:46] Each window or tab operates independently.
[00:02:49] You can [00:02:50] filter, sort, refresh, or customise the display in one view—without affecting the others.
[00:02:55] It’s a flexible way to explore your data, especially when juggling large [00:03:00] datasets or comparing different sources.
[00:03:03] These Multi-Tab and Multi-View tools are designed to give you more control over how you work in [00:03:10] DataShed5.
[00:03:10] They help you move faster, compare data more easily, and get more done—whether you're on one screen or several.
[00:03:17] Thanks for watching, and happy [00:03:20] exploring in DataShed5!
