The ‘View Data’ option presents a list of the modules (tables/views) that are available to the current user. These modules are collected into module groups, which can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on the and arrowheads next to the module name. If any filters have been saved for a particular module, those filters will be listed underneath the module name (see example below: Module ‘DH Collars’ has saved filter ‘Hole Type DD’)

Clicking the module name will open the table/view and show the content of the object.

The content of the table will be filtered based on the current active dataset selection, activated through the DataSet Manager. The content is also filtered according to any currently active Cascade Filters that relate to the current object type.

> ℹ️ If the user has the correct user permissions the data within the grid will be editable. Cells can be edited and whole rows of data can be added with the [**+**] button or existing rows deleted with the Bin button.

In the image above, the ‘DH Collars’ module has been selected, and there are no currently active cascade filters. The first page of data is displayed, along with a scrollbar at the bottom of the page allowing the user to see additional columns not currently on screen.

Clicking the ‘Hole Type DD’ filter will show the data in the same table, but first activates the named Cascade Filter. In this example, that filter includes only holes with the value ‘DD’ in the ‘Hole_Type’ column. This filter will now remain active for other ‘DownHole’ modules, until it is disabled. The DH Collars heading below will display a * symbol when a cascade filter has been applied to a table as below.

**Assay Incoming Data** table will display default shared filters for “**Missing Library Values**”, “**No Sample match**” and “**Other Errors**”.

![View Data - Step 3.png](media://27d88e82-e2a1-4caa-a903-0015eaffde84)

Decimal fields in the table will be displayed with all decimal places.

**SysAdmin** and **User Plus** users have the exclusive ability to **Edit**, **Delete**, and **Insert** new records in the Data Grid. For User role types, these options won't be available, with View being the only option.

The Edit function provides inline editing, allowing users to change values and tab out of a cell, automatically saving the changes to the database. It considers constraints such as primary or foreign key references.

Click the row to activate an Edit.
When editing an existing row, changes are not saved column-by-column—they're only saved once the user finishes the row, clicks the '**Save**' icon or clicks away from the row.
If the row contains validation errors, a toaster message is displayed outlining the validation issue.
Pressing Escape (**Esc**) or clicking the '**Cancel**' icon will cancel the update, restoring the row to its previously saved state.

## Multi-Tab and Multi-View

Users can right-click main menu items—such as View Data, Reports, Dashboards, Import/Export Data, Assay Manager, Extensions, and Maps—to open them in separate browser tabs for parallel access. Maps and Data Views can also be undocked into standalone windows and positioned across multiple screens.

![Multi-Tab & Multi-View Enhancements - Step 2.webp](media://4bba209b-35e3-411d-9bf1-080dbf3d49b9)

### **Dual-Screen Support:**

- Users can position *View Data* grids and map views across two monitors for expanded workflows.
- All interactive functions such as select all, refresh, sorting, and display settings now operate independently per view.

### **Filter Synchronisation Improvements:**

- Filters created and saved in one view (e.g. *Collar*) propagate to related views (e.g. *DH Lithology*) by performing a manual Refresh on the view.
- Activating, deactivating, or globally clearing filters using the *"Disable all filters"* option reflects consistently across all views.

### **Usability Enhancements:**

- Tabs and windows automatically revert to defaults when sorting and display settings are cleared.
- Grid views retain the correct data context after refresh actions.

## Add Data

To add a new record, simply click the '**+**' Icon at the top left.
In the case of a new record, the grid indicates mandatory fields and other validations with a red border around the cell. All mandatory fields need to be updated to save a record to the database.
Date fields will display a 'Date Picker' control.

Click the Bin icon.
Confirmation check is displayed.
The Delete action is validated and an error message will display if the action will cause a database violation.
