# Introduction

**DataShed5** is a web-based application that enables users to explore, filter, and export data stored within the Maxwell Data Schema. It offers flexible access to a range of database views, detailed and summary reports, and an interactive map for visualising spatial data.

The interface is designed to be intuitive, so most users can navigate the core features with little to no guidance. However, some of the more advanced tools and options may require a bit more explanation.

The **Quick Start** section provides a simple walkthrough to help new users get up and running quickly. The remainder of this guide offers step-by-step instructions for using all features available in DataShed5.
