<u>**Normal Operation:**</u>

When running the "Update License" protocol the CMD (Command Prompt or "little black screen") should open, and eventually it returns the following results (<u>*NOTE:*</u> the date/time, software version and "(x86)" may be different):

<span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell Geoservices\LeaseControl 1.8.0\License\Files\lcl.dll</span>
<span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell Geoservices\LeaseControl 1.8.0\License\Files\lcl.dll.cm</span>
<span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell Geoservices\LeaseControl 1.8.0\License\Files\lcl.dll.cm.ini</span>
<span style="color: #0747a6">        3 file(s) copied.</span>
<span style="color: #0747a6">Finished Update at 14-Nov-2018 14:58:55.93</span>
<span style="color: #0747a6">Press any key to continue . . .</span>

You may find that it asks you if you want to allow the CMInstall.exe to make changes - the answer is 'yes'.

<u>**Symptom:**</u>

1. The CMD screen doesn't open - refer **Troubleshooting 1**.
2. When running the Update Licence Protocol the CMD screen opens, however it does not copy over 3 files.  I get a line that says:
  - <span style="color: #bf2600">"Machine Undetermined"</span> - The Windows version relevant to the LeaseControl application instance is not supported.  Contact Servicedesk.maxgeo.com for further information.
  - <span style="color: #bf2600">"The process could not use the file because it is in use by another process"</span> noting that the file in question is that file directly above this notation - refer **Troubleshooting 2**.

<u>**Troubleshooting:**</u>

1. It may be that you have insufficient permissions to run the program.  Instead of clicking on it to run it, try right-clicking and selecting "Run as administrator".  If you still have insufficient permissions, I would suggest that your IT need to run this protocol, or amend your permissions.
2. Ensure all users are out of LeaseControl.  It is important to use [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL] to ensure that all windows are closed.  Once this is done, re-run the process.
