<u>**Problem:**</u>

The error: "The protected program has been installed too many times.  Contact [support@maxwellgeoservices.com](mailto:support@maxwellgeoservices.com) to reset you license key." was generated when:

1. Installing CopyMinder or otherwise entering a licence key into CopyMinder.
2. Installing LeaseControl and configuring it as a Standalone (instead of Network or Trial).

<u>**Cause:**</u>

Each LeaseControl licence key can only be in use once.  This error is generated when you try to use the same Licence Key without having uninstalling the first instance.

<u>**Solution:**</u>

1. Either: **(a)** uninstall the first instance of CopyMinder, then try installing again; or **(b) **request a second LeaseControl licence key via [sales@maxgeo.com](mailto:sales@maxgeo.com)
2. Either: **(a)** uninstall the first instance of LeaseControl, then try installing against; or **(b)** convert your existing licence key to a subscription licence (via [sales@maxgeo.com](mailto:sales@maxgeo.com)) to enable multiple installs; or **(c)** request another LeaseControl licence key via [sales@maxgeo.com](mailto:sales@maxgeo.com)

<u>**Additional Information:**</u>

- *What is the difference between a 'standalone' and 'subscription' licence?* Standalones are being phased out, as they outdated and do not modern platforms and business operations.  Subscription licences permit multiple installs, with the only limitation being the number of concurrent users - which you (the client) set.  For further information, please contact [sales@maxgeo.com](mailto:sales@maxgeo.com)
