<u>**Symptom:**</u>

*This is a Microsoft SQL Server Management studio error.  For full information, please refer to Microsoft.*

1. When trying to Configure the SQL Server Agent, the following error is generated:
  1. "An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ConnectionInfo)  SQL Server bocked access to procedure 'dbo.sp_get_sqlagent_properties' of component 'Agent XPs' because this component is turned off as part of the security confgiuration for this server.  A system administrator can enable the use of 'Agent XPs' by using sp_configure... (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15281) - refer **Cause 1**.

<u>**Cause:**</u>

1. Agent XPs (a required component for configuring the SQL Server Agent for LeaseControl's Email Alerts) is turned off - refer **Solution 1**.

1. Run the below **Agent XP Script** in SQL Server Management Studio against the relevant SQL Server database.

exec sp_configure 'show advanced option',1

reconfigure

reconfigure
