**Problem:**

1. I'm being told to view the error log but don't know where it is - refer **Solution 1**.
2. It says compulsory fields are empty but there is data in them - refer **Troubleshooting 1**.
3. Validation error: "Cannnot insert null into..." - refer **Cause 2**.

**Cause:**

1. The properities of the excel document indicate that are more rows that you have populated with data (irrespective of the fact they are empty) - refer **Solution 2**.
2. Some fields are compulsory, and in this case you have not provided a value in respect of a field - refer **Solution 3**.

**Troubleshooting:**

1. If the error is that a compulsory field is empty: have a look at the row indicated in the Error Message:
 - Have a look at the row indicated in the Error Message. If it is a row that is intentionally empty, refer **Cause 1**.

**Solution:**

1. With the Import Template still open, click on the button at the bottom [View Errors]. This will open in a separate window.
2. Look at the highest row number in the error log. Go to this row in the excel document, and:
 - highlight this row and all rows between this and where your data starts (ensuring you are not highlighting any row that contains data).
 - Right-click and select [delete].
 - Scroll up to the top of your document.
 - Save the changes and close the document.
 - Go back to the Importer and try again.
3. You will need to provide a value for the field indicated, in the row indicated in the validation error.
 - If you are unsure what field is required to be completed - refer to the related article "[Importer Tool Field Reconciliation](https://maxgeo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LC/pages/1264058401)".
