<u>**Objective:**</u>

1. I am in the LeaseControl software and I need to know the Licence Key.
2. I cannot get into the LeaseControl software and I need to know Licence Key.
3. The record of my Licence Key has been cleared from the system and I need to know the Licence Key.

<u>**Before you start:**</u>

Your LeaseControl Licence Key will start with "LEASE-" followed by random numbers and letters.  You may find it is associated with a Licence *Number *(begging with "LC" and follwed by additional letters then numbers), however the primary data required is the Licence Key.

<u>**Instructions:**</u>

1. From within the software, from the "Help" menu select "About".  A new screen with open, with the Licence Key - record this.  Incidentally, this is also where you can obtain information on the version.  Press "OK" to close the window.
2. On the relevant computer (refer following dot points) you are looking for a file called "lcl.dll.cm.ini".  It is stored at either <span style="color: #0747a6">"C:\ProgramData\IL\LEASE\cm"</span> or "<span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Users\Public\Documents\Maxwell GeoServices\LeaseControl\"</span>.  On the line "ProductKey=" you will find your Licence Key.
  - For a subscription licence, the relevant computer is the computer hosting CopyMinder (ordinarily a server).
  - For a standalone licence (these are being phased out) the relevant computer is the computer hosting LeaseControl (ordinarily a desktop).
3. If neither of the above provides the information that you're after, please contact servicedesk.maxgeo.com noting that if a new Licence Key is required to be issued (last resort) fees may apply.
