<u>**Problem:**</u>

Either:

- An error is returned when opening LeaseControl: "Copyminder returned error number : 7"
- An error is returned when opening LeaseControl: "Copyminder returned error number: 34"
- You have otherwise been directed to this Article as CopyMinder is experiencing difficulties.

<u>**Troubleshooting:**</u>

1. From the computer that is hosting the CopyMinder install, open up a browser.  If you can’t access any site, refer **Causes 1** and **2**.
2. From the browser, try accessing [http://primary.copyminder.com](http://primary.copyminder.com/) and [http://secondary.copyminder.com](http://secondary.copyminder.com/).
  - If you can't, try from another computer - preferably from a computer outside your network.
  - If you can't access them from any computer, refer **Cause 3**.
  - If you can access them from outside the network, but not from within the network - refer **Cause 2.**
3. Open your local services and check to see if the CopyMinder service is running.  If no, refer **Cause 4**.
4. If you have recently run a Windows update, refer **Cause 5**.
5. If all else fails, refer **Cause 6**.

<u>**Cause:**</u>

1. Your internet is down.  Refer **Solution 1**.
2. You have a firewall issue.  Refer **Solution 4**.
3. The CopyMinder site may be down.  Refer **Solution 3**.
4. The CopyMinder service has stopped.  Refer **Solution 2**.
5. Some Windows updates interferes with CopyMinder.  Refer **Solution 5**.
6. The issue may have been resolved but the system isn't detecting new data.  Refer **Solution 6**.

<u>**Solution:**</u>

*Please be mindful of your company's IT protocol regarding internet connectivity from certain servers and other IT infrastructure.  If necessary, the **[attached article](http://smartnet.max-geoservices.com.au/kb/?View=entry&EntryID=344)** discusses configuring the firewall to permit access to the specific CopyMinder site.*

1. Have a chat to your IT or, if you don't have IT available, please contact [servicedesk.maxgeo.com](http://servicedesk.maxgeo.com).  Please ensure that you are fully informed of your company's IT protocols before requesting we restore internet connectivity.  Your company may prefer that the firewall be configured to allow this specific site.
2. From your local services, right-click the service and select restart.  If you can't select "restart" select "stop" first.
3. Please contact [servicedesk.maxgeo.com](http://servicedesk.maxgeo.com) to inform us of the issue and ensure this is the cause.
4. You may need to configure your firewall to permit access to this site.  Please refer to the article "[CopyMinder (client Firewall settings)](https://maxgeo.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MAXGEO/pages/1066434561)".
5. Uninstall and reinstall CopyMinder - ensuring before doing so that you have the Licence Keys, as these may require re-entry at of install.
6. Contact us at [servicedesk.maxgeo.com](http://servicedesk.maxgeo.com) to ensure that the Licences being used are valid.

  - Go to 'services'.  To get from Cortana enter "services" and then select "services", or from control panel enter "services" into the search bar top right, then select "view local services".
  - Look for "CopyMinder" in the list.  You should be able to view it's status from here, then select to stop / restart as directed in **Solution 2**
