<u>**Objective:**</u>

1. I have been provided a patch for a LeaseControl bug, and need to apply it to my system - refer **Prerequisites** and **Instructions 1** throught **3** dependent on the nature of the patch that has been provided.
2. I have been redirected here from:
  - Troubleshooting opening LeaseControl due to the .exe being in the wrong location - refer **Prerequisites** and **Instructions 2**.

<u>**Prerequisites:**</u>

1. You must already have LeaseControl installed, and of the same version that the patch relates to.  e.g. a V1.8.0 patch should only be applied to a V1.8.0 LeaseControl system.
2. You must have sufficient IT permissions to apply the patch.

<u>**Instructions:**</u>

<span style="color: #ff5630">*Despite thorough testing being conducted by Maxwell GeoServices, we always recommend patches are applied in a test environment prior to applying to live systems, and only after test outcomes are satisfactory to the business.  SQL scripts should only be run by an experienced and qualified SQL professional.*</span>

1. **.sql files:  **These should run in SQL Management Studio against each LeaseControl database by an experienced and qualified SQL professional.  Any errors should be investigated.
2. **.exe files:**  These should replace the existing .exe file per computer installed with the application, noting this will need to be done as an administrator.  There are 3 applications forming the LeaseControl solution - each with their own .exe file, as detailed below - however it is usual that only 1 application will require the patch.
  - The <u>*LeaseControl.exe*</u> is found at <span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell GeoServices\[LeaseControl version]</span>\ (noting "[LeaseControl version]" is your cue to select the folder that represents the version of LeaseControl you are currently running.
  - The <u>*Reporting.exe*</u> is found at <span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell GeoServices\Reporting\</span>
  - The <u>*Maxwell.Applications.MAXGeoImport.exe*</u> (commonly referred to as the "Importer.exe") is found at <span style="color: #0747a6">C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell GeoServices\MAXGeoImport\</span>
3. **Installation files:**  These should replace your existing installation files, such that future installations of the LeaeControl system use the latest build.  These are ordinarily stored by the IT team on a central system.
