<u>**Symptom:**</u>

1. When trying to open LeaseControl the following error is generated:
  1. <span style="color: #bf2600">"MultiInst: Checking application instance loaded  The application will now exit"</span> - refer **Cause 1**.

<u>**Cause:**</u>

1. This can be caused by a few things, but ultimately is caused by incompatibility.

<u>**Solution:**</u>

1. Either downgrade the environment supporting LeaseControl (***not*** recommended) or upgrade to the latest version of LeaseControl - contact servicedesk.maxgeo.com.

<u>**Additional Information:**</u>

1. <u>*How old is V1.6.1?*</u>  It was released in 2011 or thereabouts, so compatibility with modern hardware, operating systems and software is extremely limited - after all, technology is constantly evolving!  Best practice is take up upgrades as they become available, including participating in any pre-release or post-release testing that may be available or otherwise recommended.  This is true of any IT component, not just LeaseControl.
