[00:00:05] Sampling defaults and QC policies ensure that your data collection meets specific standards. The downhole data Sample Sheet allows you to auto-generate sample intervals, QC samples, and sample IDs. Navigate to the downhole sample sheet for one of the templates.
[00:00:21] The header details and layout are similar to other logging grids, but this page includes additional functions to aid in creating samples. The buttons above the grid include a red button with a house icon for a shortcut to the logging menu, a white gear icon for sampling settings, and starting and ending depth fields to generate samples for a specific interval. Depending on the admin setup, there will be either one or three buttons next to the ending depth field.
[00:00:50] There are two methods for setting up the sample sheet for logging. If the sample ID is not mandatory, users can use three separate buttons to generate intervals, QC samples, and sample IDs.
[00:01:03] This method is recommended as it allows auto-reordering of sample IDs when adding a new QC sample, though you cannot assign QC samples to a specific sample ID suffix.
[00:01:30] If the sample ID is mandatory, there will be only one button to auto-generate intervals, QC samples, and sample IDs.
[00:01:39] This method does not allow reordering and renaming of sample IDs after inserting a new QC sample, but it enables setting QC sample insertions to a sample ID suffix.
[00:01:50] Consult with admin users if you need to switch between these methods. Note that if you create intervals and QC samples before generating sample IDs, the QC sample insertion must be set to frequency, not suffix.
