[00:00:05] In LogChief Lite you can update a dataset name Site ID or Hole ID even after uploading the data to the MDS database.
[00:00:20] To do this navigate to the Manage Data page. Notice the data I have in several tables for the existing Hole ID.
[00:00:36] To change the hole ID, select the white pencil icon in the grid on the left for the record you want to edit. This will open the Add New Record page where you can update the Hole ID accordingly. Once you've made your changes, save and confirm them.
[00:01:05] The existing data from the original Hole ID will be copied to the updated ID, while the original Hole ID and all its data will remain in the MDS database if it was uploaded prior to being modified. The updated Hole ID will reference the original ID in the Historic_Hole_ID field, and a history of all updates will be recorded in the Comments field.
[00:01:21] when syncing, LogChief Lite will follow the MDS database rules. If you update a Hole ID that contains sample data already uploaded to the database and then attempt to sync, the process will fail due to a primary key constraint violation. This happens because the Sample IDs already exist in the database, preventing duplicate entries. To resolve this, you must either delete the existing Sample IDs from the database or remove the sample data from LogChief Lite for that Hole ID before attempting to sync again.
[00:02:08] The same procedure can be followed for Site IDs in the Point data grid. Click on the pencil icon for the record you want to edit. Update the Site ID accordingly and save and confirm the change.
[00:02:39] A History of changes made to the Site ID will be inserted into the comments field, and the Historic Site ID field will populate with the original Site ID.
