[00:00:05] In the downhole sample sheet, if sample ID is set as non-mandatory, where there are three buttons to generate sample data above the grid, click on the ‘intervals and QC’ button. 
[00:00:16] If there is no QC policy applied yet, then it will just generate sample intervals according to the defaults set out in the settings menu. 
[00:00:35] Apply a QC Policy, ensuring the samples are set to a frequency, then click on the ‘QC’ button. 
[00:00:46] This will insert the duplicates blanks and standards according to the frequency they were set to insert in the sampling settings. 
[00:01:00] The Sample IDs button will assign sample IDs to all the intervals and QC samples. Sample IDs are used as primary keys in the MDS database and are thus required to upload your sample data. 
[00:01:12] Right click on an interval where you would like to manually insert a QC sample. You can select to insert a duplicate, blank or standard. You will need to fill in the mandatory information before saving the record. Please note that because Sample ID is not mandatory, you will not need to put in a sample id when manually inserting a QC sample and can leave it blank. If you then click on the ‘Sample IDs’ button again, it will rename and reorder the IDs accordingly. This feature is only available when Sample ID is set as not mandatory.
[00:01:57] If Sample ID has been set as mandatory by an admin user, then there will only be one button available to create the samples. Click on the ‘Intervals and QC’ button. Intervals, applied QC policies and sample IDs will be generated. There is still the opportunity to right click on an interval to manually insert a QC but you will have to provide a unique sample ID.
[00:03:10] Intervals can also be created one row at a time by clicking on the ‘Plus’ icon above the grid. This will also follow the defaults set out in the sampling settings. The sample sheet can be exported to an excel spreadsheet by clicking on the xlsx icon above the grid on the right. Please note that the export will not include the hole ID or dataset until you add the columns to the grid with the column chooser.
