**Issue: **Installation of LogChief was not performed as a local administrator or run with administrator rights

**Cause: **Incomplete software installation

**Resolution: ** to be performed by a user with local administrator rights

Desktop ShortCut

1. Navigate to the LogChief bin folder on the C drive
  - C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxwell GeoServices\LogChief 3.2\bin
2. Create shortcut of the LogChief.exe
3. Navigate to the public desktop folder
  - C:\Users\Public\Desktop
4. delete the current LogChief shortcut and paste the earlier created shortcut.


Start Menu Shortcut (Windows 10)

1. navigate to
  - C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\maxgeo\LogChief 3.2
2. replace the shortcut with the previously create shortcut from the above steps.
