LogChief enables administrators to control the access rights of the users of the system through the use of Security Groups and Permissions. For the maxgeo_Demo_Configuration, extensive security settings have been created in the Database structure which limit the rights of users to log, verify, edit and take data offline; however, these settings are database wide and if limitations are required for individual profiles and users then this can be setup through the security options described in this section.

To access the security screen click the drop down menu & click either 'LogChief Groups' or 'Users and User Groups'

By default, when you click on the "**...**" button, it opens the screen with dbo.tblLIBPerson selected.

![image](media://9e6fe5ba-2894-4149-8e0b-2505bcb5e4c8)

During the data logging, LogChief replaced the "**%LOGGED_BY%**" value with the value selected here. User can change the Library Table here but, needs to be careful as there is a possibility that the library doesn't match with the database library and data logging failed completely.

![image](media://1ec727d7-2a28-4435-85c0-7013cb3b6353)

In the example above, I have set default for Data_Source and Logged_By filed with "%LOGGED_BY %". During the data logging, LogChief replaced that value with "DRILLER1".
