**Problem:**
1. When opening LeaseControl, the below error was generated:
**Cause**
1. The server name/IP address that hosts the CopyMinder (licencing) install is no longer identified. Ordinary causes include a server being retired or undergoing a name change. Thus, your LeaseControl looks for CopyMinder, and cannot find it.
**Solution:**
1. Either of the following:
- Rename the server back to what it was; or
- Uninstall and reinstall LeaseControl with updated details. You may wish to 'ping' the new server name/IP address from the desktop (hosting the LeaseControl software) to ensure that it is accessible and identifiable prior to uninstallation.
**Additional Info:**
- *What is CopyMinder?* CopyMinder is a licencing system. You therefore have CopyMinder installed on your network, where it stores all your licencing information. Each LeaseControl software installation then 'points' to this CopyMinder installation - allowing multiple LeaseControl software installations to share a single Licence.
- *How do I 'ping' the server?* You do this from Command Prompt (instructions below on how to open Command Prompt). Assuming your server name is "MXTR94" you would simply type ping MXTR94 into Command Prompt and press ENTER on your keyboard.
- From Cortana, type Command Prompt and select it from the list (should be first in the list).
- From the Start (or Windows) Menu, select Windows Systems then Command Prompt.
