By default Amazon WorkSpaces Applications desktop are a non Persistence desktop. The desktop does not save any files once the user logs out. 

maxgeo can offer the following options for Persistent desktop options

- Home Folder Persistent
- OneDrive access
- Google Drive for Google Workspace access

## Home Folder Persistent

After successfully launching your Amazon WorkSpaces Applications session:  

1. Click **File Explorer** from the taskbar inside the session.
2. Select **This PC**
3. Select **Home Folder**

Any files save in the home folder will not be deleted once the user is logged out

> ℹ️ The **Home Folder** data is stored in a AWS S3 bucket. The data is not backed up and is not recoverable if deleted.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ The **Home Folder **is unique for each user and cannot be shared between users

 

## Cloud Storage Access

> ℹ️ Only a Business OneDrive account OR Business Google Workspace account** **(G-Suite domains) can be linked. Amazon WorkSpaces Applications does not support Personal accounts
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ Requires Home Folder Persistent

After successfully launching your AppStream session:  

1. select the **My Files** option st the top of the screen
  
2. Select Add Storage
  
3. Select the Cloud Storage type and account eg. OneDive
4. Sign into your account
5. The cloud storage will now be available in the My Files list
6. The Cloud Storage will now be accessible from the desktop
